Cox Call Forwarding Instructions

Instructions on how to call forward Cox phones to the answering service.

Cox Call Forwarding Instructions

Cox call forwarding allows you to forward your calls to another phone number. This includes call forwarding to the answering service, mobile phone or a landline.

Turning ON the Call Forwarding Service

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Dial * 72. On a rotary phone, dial 1172.
  3. Listen for the dial tone.
  4. Dial '1' plus the 10-digit number provided to you by the answering service.
  5. Your confirmation will be a stutter dial tone, then regular dial tone to let you know your Call Forwarding feature is now working. 
  6. Hang up.

Turning OFF the Call Forwarding Service

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Dial * 73. On a rotary phone, dial 1173.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone, and then hang up the handset.
